Choose a Board Certified Surgeon for Best Results of Botox Treatment
March 5th, 2012  Posted By admin   Posted in General News | No Comments »
Tags: ,

Botox treatment has become a popular cosmetic procedure in the United Sates. If you wish to get rid of any wrinkles, lines or creases on your forehead and face without going through an invasive surgery, Botox is the most effective remedy. You simply need to keep in mind that an experienced board certified surgeon is the best person to provide the right dosage of Botox to a candidate. Though beauty clinics headed by ‘cosmetic beauty experts’ have mushroomed all across Florida, only a board certified surgeon can give you Botox injections in the right way to bring the best results.

Dr. George Pope, the cosmetic and revisionist surgeon at Orlando Plastic Surgery Center has an experience of more than 23 years in the field of plastic and cosmetic surgeries. He has helped several patients to look younger and more beautiful with Botox treatments.

Botox is a drug derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. The cosmetic doses of Botox are prepared by diluting the toxin. In Florida, Botox injections are used for not only for cosmetic reasons but also to treat eyelid spasms, eye muscle spasms, severe neck muscle spasms, excessive underarm sweating and migraine headaches.

Being a highly qualified and experienced board certified surgeon, Dr. George Pope treats all his patients with utmost care and ensures that the typical phobia of injections does not cause any anxiety to them.

There is a little pain caused by Botox injections but the use of very fine needles ensures that you do not feel it severely. In fact this is exactly where the skill of your cosmetic surgeon is proved. Dr. George Pope has been voted the best plastic surgeon in Florida due to his proficient ways of handling his patients' cases. It may be a Botox injection or more invasive eye lid surgery, rhinoplasty or any other cosmetic treatment, he always performs his job in most professional and gentle manner.

Botox is injected into the muscles that create wrinkles or furrows. Typically, several injections need to be given to ensure the best results. The complete process takes about 30 minutes. The results of a Botox treatment become obvious in about the week and the wrinkles disappear to reveal a beautiful, young face!

Dr. George Pope, MD, FACS has eliminated wrinkles on the forehead, around the nose and lips of patients through Botox injections. Orlando Plastic Surgery Center has state-of-the-art facilities for your comfort and the environment is conducive to cosmetic surgery treatments in a relaxed state. Consult Dr. Pope – the best plastic surgeon when you are looking for a board certified surgeon in Florida and you will be certainly happy with the results.

Job Hunters Seek Out Plastic Surgeons for a Competitive Edge
January 4th, 2012  Posted By admin   Posted in General News | No Comments »

It's never been more important to look your best when searching for a job. In today's difficult times, the job market is fiercely competitive, which is why many job seekers are undergoing various beauty procedures to enhance their appearance.

Many men and women in their 60s and 70s are delaying retirement to work longer due to economic difficulties. Cosmetic procedures can help these older employees achieve a more youthful appearance that matches their energy level and enthusiasm for work. This is especially important to them when interviewing against someone half their age.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery, eyelid surgeries and facelifts are among the most common procedures for those wanting a more youthful appearance.

Older men and women aren't the only ones undergoing various beauty procedures for a competitive edge. For many younger job seekers, injectables and peels seem to be desirable alternatives that offer less downtime and quick results.

Young 30-somethings and those in their 40s and 50s enjoy the convenience of such non-surgical procedures. Many are opting for popular injectables like Botox, Juvederm, and Sculptra to appear more vibrant. They are doing everything they can to present the "total package" to employers. While injectables may not be for everyone, chemical peels, facials, and other skincare treatments can also help people achieve an enhanced, healthy glow.

Sure, we understand that beauty should not be the end-all deciding factor when hiring a new employee, but when it comes down to it, it can be a huge plus in today's competitive job market. It shows employers that candidates value their appearance and image, which typically translates into healthy job performance. Also, employers want representatives of their company to look great and feel confident. These beauty treatments, along with a healthy, active lifestyle help people feel accomplished, happy, and successful.

What are your thoughts on this? Does an attractive exterior or youthful appearance play a role in the hiring process?

Join us for Our Upcoming Sculptra Aesthetic Event in Orlando!
November 28th, 2011  Posted By admin   Posted in Events in Orlando, General News | No Comments »

We are pleased to announce that we are planning an upcoming seminar about the popular injectable Sculptra Aesthetic at our award-winning, Orlando-based plastic surgery office and surgical suite on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at 5:30 in the afternoon.

Sculptra’s history, benefits, and frequently asked questions will be discussed by a manufacturer representative along with a live demonstration of the product being administered. Discounts on Sculptra up to $700 off regular prices will also be available.

Sculptra is a facial injectable that replaces lost collagen, helping to fill in concave areas of the face and improve facial contours. It is typically administered in a series of treatments separated by four to six weeks. The amount of treatments varies for each patient, but usually three to four treatments are sufficient for many of our patients to see quality results.

The results of Sculptra Orlando can last up to two years (compared to 4 months to other popular injectables like Botox Orlando). The results are gradual and they appear over time, in a more natural progression than other injectables.

The popularity of facial injectables and fillers has dramatically increased over the years. The minimally invasive nature of the procedure makes it highly desirable and its affordability and accessibility has increased its prevalence.

In 2010, Botulinum Toxin Type A injections ( Botox Orlando and Dysport ) increased 12% from 2009 and fat tissue fillers rose 14% (American Society of Plastic Surgeons). In total, there were around 11.6 million minimally invasive procedures in 2010, which is an overall 5% increase from 2009.

To RSVP for the event hosted at Orlando Plastic Surgery Center on Orange Avenue in Orlando, Florida, guests can call 407-857-6261.

Orlando Plastic Surgery & Laser Treatment Recovery Times – What to Expect.
November 1st, 2011  Posted By admin   Posted in General News, Laser Skin Resurfacing, Laser Treatment, Revisionist Surgery | No Comments »

“There's minimal downtime.” “The pain will be moderate.” “ There is no swelling." Anyone who has fallen for those soothing words, only to wake up after a laser treatment with her face on fire and looking like a slab of beef carpaccio, knows how misleading recovery terminology can be. To help ease the confusion, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery has come up with a lexicon of terms for doctors to use that they hope will help quantify for patients the downtime, bruising, redness, swelling, and pain associated with laser and light-based treatments.

Talking Downtime

No downtime: Means it will take more than your lunch hour but less than 24 hours to look like yourself.

Minimal: You can expect 24 to 72 hours of downtime.

Moderate: It will take three to seven days to recover.
Significant: You'll want to hide out for more than a week.

Talking Bruising

No bruising: Well, this one is not exactly true. There can be some pigment change, but it should fade fast and can easily be covered up with concealer.

Minimal bruising: The bruising will take a week to go away.
Moderate: Bruising will fade in one to two weeks.
Significant: It will take more than two weeks for the bruising to disappear. Buy some heavy duty makeup to wear in the meantime.

Talking Redness

None: Again, not exactly accurate. You may see some redness in the first 24 hours.

Minimal: You can expect one to three days of redness.

Moderate: Count on four to seven days of redness.

Significant: Don’t do this treatment the week before you're having your picture taken. It will take more than a week to look like yourself again.

Talking Swelling
Essentially none: Again, this means some. It will resolve in less than three days.

Minimal: You'll be puffy for three to seven days.
Moderate: This is not so moderate—eight to 14 days of swelling.
Significant: This is really significant swelling that takes more than two weeks to heal.

Talking Pain and Discomfort

Essentially none: This means you may need to take something like Tylenol for any pain you have.

Minimal: You may require a topical painkiller during treatment and a prescription painkiller after.

Moderate: Same as above, plus some local anesthesia before treatment.
Significant: You'll require some intravenous sedation or general anesthesia before treatment. (Translation: This treatment is going to hurt. You'll be knocked out.)

Those Who Follow the Mediterranean Diet Are Happier Than the Rest of Us.
June 23rd, 2011  Posted By admin   Posted in Diet, General News | No Comments »

We all strive to look our best—we dress accordingly, get our hair done just right, and we make the necessary adjustments in our appearance to help us feel more youthful and confident. But what about the health and happiness of our inner-self?

New research has revealed that adopting the Mediterranean way of eating may reduce your risk of depression.

What is the Mediterranean Diet? Well, you may have also heard it called the “Sonoma Diet.” This is a diet rich in veggies, fruits, nuts, and whole grains, complemented by fish as opposed to meats, as well as small amounts of monosaturated fats found in olive oil and foods like avocados.

The study found that subjects who followed the Mediterranean diet were more than 30% less likely to suffer from depression than those who didn’t follow the diet!

Conducted by researchers at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Pamplona Spain, the study followed the dietary habits of 10,000+ healthy adults for nearly five years.

So, if you want to feel as great as you look, give the Mediterranean diet a try. Thousands of years of eating this way can’t be wrong… get more fruits, veggies, nuts and avocados in your diet—less red meats, refined sugars, and saturated fats, then let us know how you feel. :)

How Do I Choose a Good Plastic Surgeon and What Type of Questions Should I Be Asking My Doctor?
May 31st, 2011  Posted By Dr. Pope   Posted in General News, Uncategorized | No Comments »

When visiting a plastic surgeon for your initial consultation, it's important to ask the right questions before any decision is made in regards to surgery. Sometimes, however, nerves set in while discussing procedure techniques and recovery times… and the excitement of after-surgery results can often cloud your judgement.

Preparing a list of questions before your consultation will ensure that you make the right decision and also show your surgeon that you are serious about your future procedure. The following questions were taken from The American Board of Plastic Surgery, where Dr. George Pope is an active member.

Helpful questions to ask of the prospective surgeon include:

  • Is the doctor Board Certified and is that specialty area appropriate to the procedure you are considering?
  • What qualifications/training does the physician have to perform the procedure in question?
  • How many of this type of procedure has he/she performed?
  • How many of this type of procedure does he/she perform each year?
  • If you are considering a new procedure, how did the doctor obtain training for this?
  • Has the doctor had many problems or complications with this procedure?
  • Do you feel comfortable with that doctor?

Of course, these questions are simply starting points to get you thinking about what you should ask your doctor during your consultation. Modify them according to your needs and based on what’s important to you when selecting a plastic surgeon.

These websites can also be helpful: American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS): www.plasticsurgery.org and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS): www.surgery.org.

We hope this helps you in your search. :)

Orlando Plastic Surgery Center Now Offering Visia Complexion Analysis System for Patients.
May 23rd, 2011  Posted By Dr. Pope   Posted in Aesthetic Treatment Products, General News, Skin Care, Skin Rejuvenation, Uncategorized | No Comments »

We are pleased to announce that Orlando Plastic Surgery Center has added the Visia Complexion Analysis System to its popular menu of in-house aesthetic services.

The new system will be maintained under the direction of Dr. George Pope, board-certified plastic surgeon (ABPS) and Giuliana Crider, Medical Aesthetician at Orlando Plastic Surgery Center.

Dr. Pope and our staff are all very excited about the new system. So let’s explain what it can do for you…

The system will allow Dr. Pope and staff to evaluate your skin like never before using state-of-the-art scanning and photo technology. Once completed, we’ll use the data to develop a highly specific and personalized skincare and treatment plan for your skin’s characteristics.

The Visia Complexion Analysis System is renowned for its ability to determine not only the amount of actinic or sun damage you may have, but also the degree of wrinkling and the amount of porphyrin in the skin (from bacteria), the amount of redness from blood vessels, as well as assessing skin pore size and additional factors important to your overall skin health and appearance.

Best of all, we’ll be able to track your progress over time. Using high-resolution photography, 3D renderings, and UV fluorescence imaging at the start of your analysis, we will later superimpose those images under your latest photos to see comparable zones on the face to determine efficacy of treatment! Then, we’ll see how your skin compares to the general population in the system’s database. Pretty amazing, right?

According to the manufacturer’s website, the Visia system uses advanced technology that “… offers quantitative values for skin features that previously could only be evaluated subjectively.”

The new Visia Complexion Analysis rounds out an extensive suite of services from our aesthetics division. In addition to skin peels, facials, and massage, we also offer Cutera laser treatments, which includes laser hair removal and vein treatments.

So are you ready to take your skin to the next level using state-of-the-art analysis and valuable comparative data? Let’s get you started! Call us today to schedule your appointment. We can’t wait to share this innovative new service with you.
