An important part of the woman’s anatomy that greatly suffers as they age is her bust. Because of several factors like: pregnancy, lactation and weight loss, the breasts can lose their firmness and shape. You will have a soft bra or wrapping placed 1-2 days after surgery to support the breast and promote healing. The breasts are expected to bruise and be swollen with some discomfort for 48 hours. Loss of normal sensation may be felt due to the swelling, but sensation will come back usually in 3-6 months time. Non-strenuous activities may be resumed in less than a week.  Strenuous activities should be avoided for 3-4 weeks.

Complications for Mastopexy are uncommon. Potential risks are bleeding, infection and anesthesia reactions. A succeeding procedure may be performed in cases when wounds have healed poorly. Complications will be lessened by closely adhering to surgeon’s preoperative and postoperative instructions.
